Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of teaching methods to the understanding of the concept SQ3R students on human motion system materials class XI Science on Muhammadiyah 1 High School Palembang. The research was conducted on September 26, 2016 to October 27, 2016, were held for 3 sessions. The variable in this study was the learning method SQ3R as independent variables and the understanding of the concept as the dependent variable. The population in this study were all students of class XI Science Muhammadiyah 1 High School Palembang Year 2016/2017 consisting of 8 classes with the number of 248 students. Samples were taken from class XI student of Science 4 with total 30 students as an experimental class and class XI IPA 5 with 30 students as the control class. Data collection methods used were written test and supported by the value of worksheets, the students' performance and attitude. Written test is used to look at the ability of abiding by the concept of the student as applied learning methods SQ3R. LKPD used as evidence SQ3R student activities and to see the students' understanding during the learning process. Analysis of the test data using t-test with significance level of 5%. Based on the hypothesis test class data control and the experimental class, the obtained value of F 0.000 <0.05, significant difference. Posttest values obtained class XI IPA 4 with the average achieved 83.49, while the value of class XI IPA posttest 5 with the average achieved 74.43. It can be concluded that there is significant influence SQ3R application of learning methods to the understanding of students on the concept of human motion system materials class XI Science High Schools Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang.
