Abstract
Contextual approach is a learning approach which facilitates students in a learning and teaching proses to seek, proceed and find the real learning experience. The application of contextual in Mathematic Learning is started by using concrete things, then with the process of making semi-concrete things, and finally by using abstract things. In this research, the formulations of problem are How is the learning result of the students using Contextual learning approach? How is the learning result of the students not using the Contextual learning approach? And is there the effect of the Contextual learning approach towards the students learning result in Mathematics in MAN 1 Palembang? In fact, this research aimed to find out the learning result of the students using Contextual approach, to find out the learning result of the students not using Contextual approach and to find out the effect to the application of Contextual approach toward learning result. The samples of this research were X.2 and X.3 classes. The data collection was done by using the test technique. To test the validity of the research instruments, the researcher has consulted with four appointed validators. Based on the analysis result towards the collected data, it can be cancluded that from the test analysis result to X.2 and X.3 clasess , it shows that the ttest = 3,44 > ttables = 1,67 with the significance level of 0,05 and the degree of freedo (df)= 57 therefore, this Contextual approach can increase the effect of learning towards the students learning result.
