Abstract

The purpose of this research is to found the influence of gallery walk method to student’s study interest of Biology subject in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang. The kind of this research is quantitative. The population is a whole class of 10th Grade in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang which consists of four classes. By using cluster random sampling technique, from the four classes, taken two classes as sample, it is 1st and 2nd Grade 10th with total number of students 59. Methods of data collection was taken by study interest scale. After the data obtained from the research, results were analyzed by two ways, by using descriptive and inferential analysis. Descriptive techniques used to determine the percentage of interest in learning and inferential techniques used to determine the methods of gallery walk there any influence on student’s study interest. The results showed that there is a positive influence on the use of gallery walk method on student interest, this can be seen from the t-test results are tcount 3,141 > ttable 1,672 and significance value 0,003 < 0,05, then Ha accepted and H0 rejected, and by comparison of average value and the percentage of students study interest showed that the experimental group was superior than the control class.
