Abstract

Mental retardation is a condition characterized by low intelligence that led to the inability of individuals to learning and adapting to the demands of society on capabilities that are considered normal. Study and children are not able to adapt because of low intelligence, IQ generally under 70. Children with mental retardation experience difficulties in following the educational process. The existence of several barriers to children with mental retardation require variations and have a variety of learning how to respond to the task of learning a variation of learned behavior. In order to assist the learning process of children with mental retardation as a tool to facilitate the learning process. This system is based on Android. On Android devices can display objects with more tangible and there is sound as a supporter of learning, so the child will be more interested and able to concentrate longer. This System built using Prototype method. This system is made using PHP programming, and eclipse software. From the results of the implementation and testing of the results of the questionnaire, it is concluded that through this learning system has helped the mentally retarded children more easily receive lessons by knowing the various materials provided, by providing learning about images and sound.
